First let me say that I really enjoyed this book – and actually knew I would as soon as I received it because it is right up my alley! Fast paced thriller with a political twist

The book revolves around Ryan Matthews who used to be a cancer researcher, whose wife now has ovarian cancer. When he was a researcher he developed an ovarian cancer drug, Tricopatin, that he thought was a cure for the disease. Unfortunately, the drug fails during FDA trials and he becomes a desolate drunk in the Bahamas.  His wife, having been included in the trials for the drug he developed, is his main priority and decides to steal enough of the drug to finish testing on his wife.  In a terrible twist, his wife and children are on a plane coming to meet him in the Bahamas and it crashes – killing them all.

Enter Dr Jordan Carver, a beautiful scientist that meets Ryan while in the Bahamas visiting her parents who are very rich.  Ryan offers to take Jordan out to her parents yacht right offshore, but as they approach the yacht, they watch as it explodes into flames.

Ryan comes to find out that Jordan is actually in route to Sayulita, Mexico where she is starting up a new clinic – and she will be offering up experimental drugs to those that are terminally ill and can’t afford, or have access to drugs that may help them.  As Jordan explains about a drug to cure ovarian cancer that is being used by some unscrupulous “medical clinics”, he begins to think this is the drug he created years ago – the same drug that did not cure his wife, but did the opposite.

Ryan and Jordan go undercover to find out who is using these drugs and how to stop them. As you see the story unfold, you realize that the government may be hiding many things and their hands could be dirty in this illegal drug scheme.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was like an action movie – suspenseful,  espionage and really made be think. It was the best of all the genres I like, wrapped into one book!
