About Me
Who is the face behind Couponer101.com?
That is me and my hubby to the side – having a good time on the balcony of our room when we went crusin’ on a big boat!
My name is Kim and I’m a work at home mom of 7 kids. Born and raised in Charlotte, NC – I’m still here and very much a “southern girl”.
My background is in Corporate Software Training and Management. After leaving the corporate world about 6 years ago, my husband and I expanded on our already growing website business. Everything was going great until the economy started its downward slope. No longer did businesses find it a necessity to build or redesign a website – so our finances took a huge punch in the gut!
You don’t realize how bad you have gotten in over your head until everything starts crumbling around you. Mounting debts, robbing Peter to pay Paul became the norm. It seems like it happened overnight, but in reality, it didn’t. We just didn’t see it coming.
So, I decided to start cutting expenses one item at a time. By far, our biggest expense was food! With so many people in the house, its difficult to even keep the fridge full! I’m sure you have all felt this way. You go to the store, purchase what you think are your groceries for the week, only to see them disappear in 2 days. You are then back at the store, “picking up a few things”. Those few things turn into $100 and you are like, I KNOW I didn’t just spend $250 on groceries in 3 days!! I started researching about coupons – thinking I would start slow and build up. Once I started reading and researching, I just couldn’t get enough – it became an obsession!
As my obsession started to grow, I decided to start a blog and document what I was doing and how. That first blog was Coupon Kim! As the days and months went by, my site started to gain readers and I started to expand it. I worked at it almost a year, and then my hard work paid off in a most unusual way. I was approached to sell my website! After much mulling it over, I decided that money is a good thing and it didn’t mean I had to stop writing about or sharing my deals with others. That is when I started Couponer 101!
I love sharing my deals with everyone and hope it helps you save lots of money!!
